Can changing your e-mail mess up your computer?

I changed my e-mail adress today and my computer acting weird.It was taking forever to log off and a blue screen appeared and it said changing your personal settings on internet explorer.After finally getting it to work I restarted the computer and it seems to be working now.What happenened?Can changing your e-mail mess up your computer?No, changing your email address should not effect your PC that way. Only how you receive the notification that you have a email. Email is not stored on your computer. It is at Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, ect. Nothing in your computer changes.
