I have one e-mail account that receives at least 60 spam messages per day. I would just delete the entire bulk folder without reading through the trash, but sometimes a legitimate message is diverted there also.How do you prevent spam without changing your e-mail address?A legitimate message will NOT go to your bulk mail if the address of the person sending it is in your Contacts or Address book. But bulk mail is for spam, and if you are reading through the trash, why bother with the bulk folder? And, the only sure way to prevent spam is to NOT have an email address of any kind, with any email service. Yahoo is the world's largest supplier of free mail, so it stands to reason they get the world's biggest supply of crap mail. They do provide the spam filters and a spam button. 1. Click on the %26quot;Options%26quot; link in the upper right of your yahoo mail page.
2. Click on %26quot;Spam Protection%26quot;, fill out the form and click the %26quot;Save Changes%26quot; link.
Once you have this set up, each time you see spam or mail that you want to block, check the box next to it, go to the top of the email list and click the %26quot;Spam%26quot; button.
Note: Every message you report trains your Spam Guard filters to work better for you. The messages you select in this way will be deleted and reported as spam and
the senders of the messages will be added to your %26quot;Blocked Addresses%26quot; list.
You can check your bulk (spam) folder by clicking on the word %26quot;Bulk%26quot; to open the list and check for legitimate email. If none are there, click the %26quot;Sender%26quot; box at the top. Doing this will check all of the boxes, then you can go to the top and click the delete button. If you find a
legitimate email, open it and click %26quot;Add%26quot; across from %26quot;From%26quot; to add the address to your address book.
You must have the contact's name in your address book to prevent it from going to the bulk folder.
